Our recommended viewing distance from the television screen’s surface to your eyes for a 7 inch diagonal TV is within the range of 0.7 feet (8 inches) away for the most immersive, closest viewing experience to 1.05 feet (13 inches) away for the least immersive, farthest viewing experience. However, since we are talking about small, portable televisions here, you will most likely not always be within the ideal viewing distance range.
The viewable rectangular screen dimensions for an exactly 7 inch diagonal 16:9 aspect ratio TV would be 6.1 inches wide by 3.43 inches high. In reality, 7 inch TV screen dimensions will likely vary slightly by a fraction of an inch either more or less, as television screen size classes are rounded to the nearest whole inch. Aspect ratios other than 16:9 will also alter the screen dimensions. Keep in mind, a TV’s enclosure (and pedestal stand, if applicable) adds to its actual overall dimensions.
Note: I do know of more 7 iNCH televisions on the market than those listed below, but they lack an HDMI input. Each of the units listed below feature a built-in ATSC digital TV tuner with antenna, and also have an HDMI input.
